Here at Willow, we are following Government advice regarding the current Coronavirus situation.
The kennels are now closed to the public. All non-essential movement of the dogs has now stopped and we will not be rehoming any dogs or accepting offers of foster homes until the restrictions have been lifted by the Government. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contacted us this pass week to enquire about our dogs and offer foster placements. Rest assured that the wonderful kennel staff will continue to provide the best possible care for our dogs.
Our little charity shop is now closed and will remain closed until at least 14th April. We ask that you please do not leave any items for donation outside at our charity shop at the moment, as these will not be collected or stored away. However, we look forward to receiving these items when things are back to normal, and we will update our website and social media channels once we are fully operational again.
We hope everyone stays well and remember to follow Government guidelines and stay at home if you can.
We are a small charity formed in June 2010, dedicated to the rescuing and rehoming of abandoned dogs in South Yorkshire. Our aim is to save dogs from the council pounds in Yorkshire and give them a 2nd chance of a happy life.
Each year approximately 100,000 dogs are picked up from our streets. If they are not microchipped or have any identification they are taken to the local pound. From this moment the clock starts ticking....the dog only has 7 days before it is in danger of being destroyed. It is at this point the dog must rely on luck....is he in one of the pounds that humanely care for their dogs? Will his owner find him in time? Or has he been unfortunate enough to be forgotten and forced to live his last few days unwanted and unloved?
A dogs time in the pound will often be spent terrified, alone and confused. They will sometimes be kept in filthy, squalid condtintions and in some pounds, the dogs won't even be fed the day before they die....why waste the food? It is at this point we try to rescue as many dogs as possible. However, it is a sad fact that we can't save them all. This is why we need help from volunteers and funding from the general public to ensure our work continues.
Everyone involved with Willow Dog Rescue is a volunteer so no paid staff! This means that 100% of donations or funds raised go directly to helping the dogs...guaranteed!

Leave us a Message
If we do not answer the phone, please leave a message and we will return your call. We run Willow Dog Rescue alongside fulltime jobs and we are not always available to answer the phone, but we will give you a call back if you leave us your name, number and nature of enquiry.
It is our policy to only take in dogs from death row at the pound and not from peoples homes. If you are needing to rehome your dog please DO NOT contact Willow Dog Rescue. We are unable to help with any enquiries of this nature.
