Willow Dog Rescue is Closing!
Since our first dog rescue back in 2010, we have dedicated the last 12 years to saving strays from the local pounds. We are extremely
proud of our achievements, and have loved every dog that's passed through our doors, it's been a privilege to have been a part of their journey, to have loved and cared for them, and to see them
happy in their new homes.
But we could not have done it without the support of the fab kennel staff at BARC, our wonderful charity shop volunteers, our fosterers, our fundraisers, and anyone that has supported us in any way over the years. We would especially like to thank everyone who has adopted one (or more!) of our Willow dogs - for choosing to rescue and giving these precious dogs a second chance of a forever home. We are so grateful to you all for loving our dogs like we do.
We would also like to thank our families who have supported our passion for rescue - this has often meant foster dogs in our homes destroying things, cancelled plans due to rescue commitments, all pulling together and chipping in to see that a dogs needs are met... we couldn't have done it without your help.
We will look back with pride at what Willow has accomplished over the years - run by four of us around fulltime jobs and family commitments. Its been a rollercoaster of emotions, we have laughed and cried, seen the worst of things but also the best happy endings. We have wonderful memories which we will cherish forever, we have made friends for life, and wouldn't change a second of it. Although we are sad that it is the end of an era for us, we will remember every dog (and cat!) and remind ourselves that we did our bit.
Please continue to support your local dog rescue charities. Royston Animal Welfare will be taking over our charity shop soon, it would be great if you all could remember them when you are having a clear out and donate so generously as you did to us. It is a tough time in the rescue world at the moment, so many dogs need saving, please now lend your support to other animal charities the way you have supported us. We can all still help.
Thank you.
Julie, Sarah, Karlie and Nicola.
